September 19 Meet the President
The Patrons will have opportunity to hear from the College President about campus initiatives and upcoming projects at Golden West College. This sets the tone for the year, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.
October 17 Keeping Students Mental Health First
Guest speaker Judy Cheng, Associate Dean and Director of the GWC Student Health Center will be presenting on the mental health programs provided to students to keep them focused on education and achieving their goals. These programs are supported by the GWC Student Health Center. There will also be a guided tour of the facility.
November 21 Voices of Student Scholarship Recipients
Come welcome our Patrons Veteran Student Scholarship Recipients as they share their experiences and discuss how the scholarship funds are helping them pursue their educational aspirations.
December 12 Happy Holidays from All of Us!
The Huntington Beach High School Academy of the Performing Arts Singers will bring added sparkle to the holiday season, delighting the Patrons with uplifting festive music and spreading joy during our December luncheon.
January 16 Math & Science: Where Curiosity Ignites!
Presentation by guest speaker the new Dean of Math and Science, Dr. Justin Moore, followed by a guided tour of the Math/Science Building.
February 20 The Hidden Treasure Along our Shoreline
Enjoy a guided tour and engaging presentation led by John Villa, Executive Director of the Huntington Beach Wetlands Conservancy with a visit to the Wildlife and Interpretive Center. The meeting will be off campus with a boxed lunch.
March 20 Compassion Meets Student Success
Guest speaker Michelle Sambrano, counselor for EOPS/CARE/NextUp/Guardian Scholars, will share insights about the services offered to students and lead a tour of the program’s facilities in the Student Services Center. Patrons Officer Nominations will take place at this meeting.
April 17 Global and Cultural Richness on Campus
Guest speaker Kaori Nakama, Director of the Center for Global and Cultural Programs, will provide an overview of student services, share the many countries students represent and the process to be an International Student. Patrons Officer Elections will be taking place at this meeting.
